Oxfendazole, the sulfoxide form of fenbendazole, is a broad spectrum benzimidazole anthelmintic used against roundworms, strongyles and pinworms for sheep, cattle, goats, and swine. It is a white to grey powder; insoluble in water, slightly soluble in acetoe, chlorofor, ether and methanol. Its chemical designation is [5-(phenylsulfinyl)-1H- benzimidazol-2-yl] carbamic acid methyl ester.

Oxfendazole is a new broad-spectrum anthelmintic drug, which is more than twice as effective as phenylthiobenzazole.
It is administered to various gastrointestinal nematode adults of sheep, cattle and pigs at a dose of 23.5-5mg/kg. The insect rate is 95-100%. The worm reduction rate for each stage of larvae was 91-98%. It is also effective against short-shelled aphids and nematodes, but it is less effective against pig whipworms. This product has low toxicity and good tolerance.
